Program Doktor Turun Padang involved a total of 45 3rd year medical students and 10 lecturers from Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FPSK), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). The event was a part of the Operasi Khidmat Masyarakat (OPKIM); a community-based health program organised by the FPSK, USIM, in collaboration with the Kelantan Federal Development Department under the Implementation Coordination Unit, Prime Minister’s Department.

The program was conducted in the villages of Dun Dabong and Dun Jeli, Kelantan. In this program, residents received free medical ckeck-up and consultation from USIM physicians.
This event also exposed medical students to practise their clinical skills including patients history taking, measuring blood pressure and blood glucose level as well as consulting patients. This was done under the supervision of medical personnels and medical lecturers. (23– 27 February 2017)
