(16 Oct. 2018) The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences sent a team of students to the Inter-Medical School Clinical Anatomy Workshop 2018 that took place in International Medical University (IMU). The workshop was organized by Student Representative Council of International Medical University (IMU) in Bukit Jalil, Selangor. The event aims to facilitate students from different medical schools to discuss and present anatomical correlations of selected clinical problems critically.

The students that participated were second and third year preclinical students. Together with other teams from other universities, they were given scenarios which consist of clinical cues for the team to conclude a diagnosis and correlate it with their anatomical knowledge. The unique thing about this competition is that it was done in a workshop format whereby the groups needed to present their cases, hence giving valuable educational benefits to all present.

This event was really an eye-opener for the students. It exposed them to other medical students with different curriculum format and enabled them to share their knowledge among their colleagues. They gained good amount of experience in terms of clinical case presentations in an innovative way in front of non-familiar audience outside of their regular comfort zone. This event has been beneficial for them and hopefully with more exposure, the students will further excel in their performance in the coming workshop series.
