(23 Oct. 2018) The faculty hosted a talk on the Meta-analysis in medicine given by Dr. Natasya Abdullah. The talk focused on the new medical studies are being published continuously. Clinicians and scientists are facing increasingly large amounts of new information. It is vital clinicians to read and evaluate all available data in a medical field.

“It is a powerful method for combining the results of different studies, and for summarizing current evidence on a specific issue objectively.” It also investigates sources of variation and differential effects in the data.

Therefore, meta-analysis is valuable in the process of making clinical decisions.
