Nilai, 16 May 2026 – Medical students from universities across Malaysia gathered at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FPSK), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), for the Malaysian Physiology Quiz Competition 2026 (MyPQ’26). The competition was organized to provide an engaging platform where participants could challenge their understanding of physiology while strengthening academic ties among future healthcare professionals from various institutions.
Unlike a conventional quiz competition, MyPQ’26 incorporated a series of diverse assessment formats that tested participants’ knowledge, analytical abilities, and teamwork. Teams progressed through written assessments before advancing to interactive physiology stations involving practical tasks, data interpretation, and problem-solving activities. The competition then culminated in an exciting stage-based quiz, where the highest-scoring teams competed for the championship title.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, the event encouraged participants to interact beyond the competition itself. Students exchanged experiences, discussed different learning approaches, and built friendships with peers from medical schools nationwide. This collaborative environment transformed the competition into more than just an academic challenge, creating memorable opportunities for networking and mutual learning.
Through MyPQ’26, FPSK USIM reaffirmed its commitment to promoting active learning and academic excellence within the medical community. By integrating competitive elements with experiential learning, the programme successfully inspired students to deepen their appreciation of physiology while cultivating essential qualities such as critical thinking, communication, and teamwork.
