In addition, it became a venue for students to relate and apply classroom knowledge in the real setup early. Upon their arrival, they mingled with the elderly while having breakfast. The ceremony started with a welcome speech from the director of the Pusat Jagaan Mahmudah. Then, it continued with a heart-wrenching poem by one of the residents.
They also had the opportunity to participate in a briefing and demonstration of the bedridden patient care method such as nail care, hair washing and improving their hygiene. An extra niche for USIM students’ contribution was oral hygiene care and physiotherapy. After lunch, they tidied up the residential area. A memorable photo session with the TH volunteers and top brass ended their day before they went home.
