The National Health Seminar (NHS) 2025, themed “Empowering Healthy Ageing: Innovations and Integrative Approaches,” was successfully held on 25 September 2025 at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Nilai.
The seminar was jointly organised by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, USIM, in collaboration with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) Negeri Sembilan. This meaningful partnership reflected a shared commitment to advancing healthcare delivery and fostering innovative strategies in promoting healthy ageing across Malaysia.

The seminar was officially launched by YBhg. Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Sharifudin Md. Shaarani, Vice-Chancellor of USIM, who highlighted the urgent need for healthcare institutions and professionals to adapt to Malaysia’s ageing population. In his speech, he emphasized that as the country moves towards an ageing society, innovative, compassionate, and integrative approaches will be vital to ensure that older adults can age with dignity, purpose, and wellness.
A major highlight of the event was the Keynote Speech delivered by Dato’ Dr. Hjh Norsiah binti Haji Ali, titled “Healthy Ageing for All: Transforming Primary Care Delivery for Malaysia’s Older Adults.” Her inspiring address underscored the pivotal role of primary care in shaping healthier ageing trajectories through early prevention, community engagement, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

The seminar featured a dynamic line-up of scientific presentations, plenary discussions, and exhibitions, focusing on diverse themes such as digital innovations in geriatric care, preventive medicine, mental health, and holistic health models. Participants included healthcare practitioners, academicians, researchers, policymakers, and students, all contributing valuable insights toward advancing healthy ageing initiatives in Malaysia.
The event fostered meaningful exchanges and new collaborations across disciplines, reinforcing USIM’s commitment to promoting integrative, value-based healthcare. As the day concluded, participants were reminded that healthy ageing is not merely about extending lifespan — it is about enhancing the quality of life through empowerment, inclusion, and innovation.
